Workshops information for councils and other organisers.

In this 4 hour workshop, you will create a unique style of Islamic papercutting, cutting layers of different papers to reveal designs. You do not have to have any artistic skills to do this workshop!!
I start with powerpoint presentation where I show a history of papercutting art. After this, I teach drawing techniques for paper cutting art and also concepts of positive and negative space. Then we work on papercutting different colours of paper. The last exercise will be joining of different colour papers together.

Come along and immerse yourself in this meditative, therapeutic art form and create your own artwork to take home.
As we will use sharp tools so I recommend participants above age 8 will be good for the papercutting workshop.
I can deliver a maximum of two workshops in a day, for kids and for adults. A maximum manageable number of participants would be 15 to 20. Both workshops can be at one location or different locations.

I normally charge 80 AUD per hour which does not include transportation and hotel expenses.

Suggested tools for workshop

Workshop organisers provide pencils, sharpeners, erasers and following cutting tool and cutting mat.
Also, A4 and A3 size colour paper will be required for each participant. I will bring some large size white papers.
