Dhul-Jalaali-wal-Ikram
1. English Meaning:
The Lord of Majesty and Generosity, Lord of Glory and Honour
2. Tafseer:
- The One who is the owner of every manner of blessing, perfection, honour and majesty
- The One who bestows generosity and honour
- The One who is the source of majesty and bounty
3. Verse from the Qur’an:
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Surah Ar-Rahman (The Beneficent) [55:27]
“And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honour.”
4. Supplication:
Thauban (May Allah be pleased with him) reported, whenever the Prophet (PBUH) concluded his prayer, he would beg forgiveness from Allah three times (saying Astaghfirullah! Astaghfirullah! Astaghfirullah) and then would recite:
- Arabic: اللهم أنت السلام ومنك السلام تباركت يا ذا الجلال والإكرام
- Transliteration: Allahumma Antas- Salamu, wa minkas-salamu, tabarakta ya Dhul-Jalali wal-Ikram
- English: O Allah, You are the Grantor of security, and security comes from You. You are Blessing, O You Who have majesty and nobility.
